Our coaching support is for anyone who feels their addiction or substance use is problematic. If it is a problem for you, then it is a problem we can help you with. We won’t judge that it is not serious enough to warrant attention and we won’t be put off if you tell us the truth about the real size or scale of the problem.
If we feel that your alcohol or drug use its at the point that requires medical intervention, we will use our sessions to help you get the clinical help you need that can run alongside our support.
We will be with you every step of the way.
As we are not abstinence based, we don’t require people to completely give up using a substance or an addictive activity such as gambling. We focus on the reduction of harm to yourself or others and all coaching goals are agreed together.

Our coaching is for people who want to make practical changes to their behaviour, they want a different sort of life and realise to get that, they have to make a change . Often we help clients uncover the reasons for their substance use and find other safer, healthier, more effective ways to manage their mental health, unhelpful habits and lifestyle. We hope that after coaching our clients develop the skills to live in a more resourceful, satisfying way without relying on their addictive behaviours to ‘cope’ like they did before they came to us.

We are proud that a large proportion of our team with ‘lived experience’ – this means that many of our team have been negatively affected by their own or someone else’s problematic addictive behaviours.
We know what you may be going through and have the right mix of empathy and pragmatism to help you change your behaviours with both self- compassion and self-determinism.
Confidentiality and Discretion

You can be absolutely confident that any information you give us will be closely guarded, according to strict data protection rules.
We will not share or disclose anything about you unless you give your consent or we are compelled to do so by law.
As a lived experience organisation we are happy to share our own stories (when appropriate) and we like to promote examples of visible recovery and change as it is provides hope

In addition to maintain strict confidentiality, we are discreet which means that we are considerate when communicating with you by email or phone and we offer a range of flexible appointment times to help you find a time to talk when you can be comfortable and private.

Getting to this page is a big first step. Perhaps now you can browse our site to get a feel for us and see how we do things (or what they cost) or you can look at some of the self-support resources we have made available if you want to see what you can be doing to help yourself.

The next step is to get in touch with us with some details of your situation and we have found that the best and least stressful way for you to do this is by filling in a form. You can find the form by clicking on the button below.
Please complete the form as much as you can and we will be in touch very soon. Some of the questions have to be completed but others are optional.
But don’t worry, if you don't feel comfortable filling in any part of the form, please call the CHANGE line on XXXXX XXXXXX and someone will talk you through the information we need and why we need it whilst they complete it on your behalf.
